It's fixed now with the new pump. I also lubricated the the motor using the two vent holes on top of the motor at the ends with a fine machine oil. It sings now. I never found any magnets in this machine, I thought it magnetized the water somehow but appears to just be a plain water pik. Let me know if there's a magnet there I'm curious how the water becomes charged, if they still do that. best, Bob Luhrs
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re glad to hear that replacing the pump got your unit working again—and great job on lubricating the motor for that smooth performance. It’s always refreshing to see repairs done instead of tossing a perfectly good machine. We take pride in providing parts so customers can keep their units running for years to come.
As for your question about magnets: the magnet is actually located in the handle of the unit. So while it might look like “just a plain water pik” (love that comment!), there’s still some clever engineering behind it.
If you have any other questions or need tips on maintenance, feel free to reach out—we’re always happy to help!
Good parts
Over the years I have had 2 hydro Floss machines. They are workhorses and work great. My latest machine quit working and I ordered replacement parts and by following the instructions online I was able to easily fix my machine for a very reasonable cost. I highly recommend Hydro Floss as the greatest water flosser machine and it now comes with a fabulous replacement parts option. Hydro Floss is simply the best.
The pump arrived OK, and it works well. I took the liberty of using some dielectric grease on the big end of the connecting rod. It took out the rattle caused by the friction between the dry components.
Was easy to install
