The Hydro Floss® Oral Irrigator is an at-home oral care device designed to help remove plaque, food particles, and debris from areas that brushing and traditional flossing may miss. It is suitable for individuals looking to improve their daily oral hygiene routine, including those with braces, implants, crowns, bridges, veneers, or other dental work.
Using a pulsating stream of water (approximately 1,200 pulses per minute), Hydro Floss® helps clean between teeth and along the gumline. This action supports overall oral hygiene and helps maintain healthy gums when used as part of a regular dental care routine.
Hydro Floss® features an integrated magnetic component that conditions the water as it flows through the device. This feature is intended to support the device’s cleaning performance during use.

Benefits to Oral Health

- Support healthier gums
- Reduce buildup in hard-to-reach areas
- Improve overall oral cleanliness
- Maintain cleaner conditions around implants, braces and wires, bridges and crowns

- Struggle with traditional floss

What is Oral Irrigation and Why It Matters
Oral irrigation (also called water flossing) uses a controlled stream of water to clean between teeth and below the gumline—areas that brushing alone may not fully reach.
For people dealing with gum concerns, dental implants, crowns, bridges, or braces, this matters because:
- Plaque and debris tend to accumulate in hard-to-reach spaces
- Gums can become irritated when bacteria remain along the gumline
- Traditional flossing can be difficult or inconsistent, especially around dental work
Oral irrigation helps by:
- Flushing out food particles and debris
- Supporting reduction of plaque accumulation when used as part of a daily routine
- Helping maintain cleaner gumlines
- Reaching areas around implants, orthodontics, and restorations more easily
It is typically used as an adjunct to brushing and flossing, not a replacement.
What Makes the Hydro Floss Different
The Hydro Floss Oral Irrigator includes a magnetic component built into the handle that conditions the water as it passes through the device.
How the Magnetic Component Works
- The device applies a magnetic field to the flowing water
- This may influence how minerals and particles behave in the water stream
- The result is often described as helping reduce the tendency of particles to adhere to tooth surfaces
What That Means for You
Compared to standard irrigators, this design is intended to:
- Support more effective disruption of loosely attached debris and plaque
- Enhance the flushing action of water alone
- Provide a more thorough clean along the gumline and between teeth
(Important: This is a physical/mechanical effect. It does not introduce chemicals or medications into the water.)
Clinically Proven
Clinical evaluations of the Hydro Floss® device have demonstrated its ability to help reduce plaque and oral debris when used as directed.
When clinically studied, the Hydro Floss delivered exceptional performance and was found to be 64% more effective at reducing plaque and calculus than traditional non-magnetic irrigators.

Great. No using dental floss. Really helps gum health. I have been using a Hydro Floss for decades and it has reduced 9 mm or more perio pockets to normal depths. Also, it is a US company, based in Alabama, and I would prefer buying this than a roughly comparable product from a multinational corporation.
I just replaced my Hydro floss as the tube was leaking and it was easier to just buy a new. I have been a regular user of the Hydro floss for over 15 yearsand credit the health of my gums to the Hydro floss.
The water pressure could be higher. I feel it is not getting all the food in between the teeth, nor is it removing all the plaque on the tooth enamel.
This is a replacement unit for an older unit that became problematic after 18 years of daily use. Fantastic product
i thought my hydrofloss was broken, it was not. i have had it for 6 plus years i love it
